While thereβs still a lot of potential for growth of e-commerce in the Nordic, annual online shopping has reached almost 60 bn euros in 2021 in the backdrop of the pandemic.
On an interesting note, Sweden-based H&M became the first company to launch a virtual store in the metaverse (called CEEK City Universe) that would provide customers with a 3-D shopping environment, i.e. consumers can buy clothes that can be worn in a digital environment. CEEK City offers a variety of immersive VR experiences, ranging from theatres and music halls to sports stadiums and bars.
